Anshul Pandey, who essays the young and vibrant Rahul in Sony Entertainment Television’s Bade Achhe Laggte Hain (Balaji Telefilms), is a marine engineer turned actor.
Talking about his initial days in the industry, Anshul says, “I am a marine engineer. I never planned to become an actor. But over the last year, I have shot for many commercial ads. And now Bade Achhe is turning good for me. I am basically from Delhi but have studied in the boarding school of Sherwood College in Nainital. Many actors of the caliber of Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, Kabir Bedi, Dalip Tahil, Vivek Mushran and Ram Kapoor are from Sherwood.”
Talking about the way in which he bagged the role of Rahul in Bade Achhe, Anshul states, “I shot for an episodic of Gumrah when they approached me for Bade Achhe and I grabbed the opportunity with both hands. Acting excites me and I get to learn everyday from talented actors like Jai Kalra and Tarana Raja who play my parents in the show. Most of my scenes are with them, and they have been good guiding forces in my acting career.”
On the ambience in the set, the actor states, “The atmosphere on the set is commendable. All the actors, directors and unit members get-together and have fun. The off screen co-ordination helps us deliver the best in our scenes.”
Anshul, may this learning curve bring the best out of you.
